Nickelback - Canadian Hard Rock Band Still Going Strong
62I first heard Nickelback and when they made it big with How You Remind Me fro m Silver Side Up, but they have so many good rock songs, both rockers and ballads, that this group is starting to finally grow on me.
Right off the bat, their albums Long Road and All The Right Reasons are probably their best, but all their albums rock.
Nickelback is from Vancouver.
The best Nickelback Songs
The best Nickelback songs:
Rockers
When Nickelback rocks, they rock. All their songs are heavy and yet melodic. They still seem too hit the pop charts.
- Too Bad (From Silver Side Up)
- How You Remind Me (From Silver Side Up)
- Animals (From All The Right Reasons)
- Because of You (From Long Road)
- Feeling Way Too Damn Good (From Long Road)
- Something in Your Mouth (From Dark Horse)
Power Ballads
If it is one thing Nickelback is great at, it is composing and producing power ballads. Chad Kroeger's raunchy voice seems to switch and fit perfectly with these songs.
- If Everyone Cared (From All The Right Reasons)
- Some Day (From All The Right Reasons)
- Far Away (From Long Road)
- If Today Was Your Last Day (From Dark Horse)
Nickelback Live In Concert
I admit that I never saw Nickelback live in concert, but when they come to my area, I will defintiely get tickets.
I have Live At Sturgis from 2006. Sturgis, South Dakota is where this was filmed and Chad Kroeger and company rocks the house. You need to see one this one.
They opened up with Animals from the CD All The Right Reasons and I was blown away.
Then, they performed in this order:
- Woke Up This morning
- Photograph
- Because of You
- Far Away
- Never Again
- Savin' Me
- Someday
- Side of a Bullet
- How You Remind Me
- Too Bad
- Figured You Out

I'm a little too old school rock to really appreciate Nickleback, but after reading this I may have to take a closer look/listen. My kids like them though. I told my kids that Nickleback got their name because when they were first starting out, they were trying to get a lot of exposure, so they sold concert tickets for only 5 cents. Most people left the concert hall mumbling "I want my nickel back!" Pure BS of course, just my way of getting under my kids' skin.
